Here at Nomad, we are always on the lookout for high-quality, long-lasting materials. Our search brought us to Horween Leather Company, one of the oldest continually operated tanneries in the United States. Not only did we find a leather versatile enough for our purposes, but we were also excited by the idea of gear that becomes unique to its owner through patina.

Unlike other mass-produced leathers, Horween leather is vegetable tanned the old fashioned way. From start to finish, the tanning process can take up to two months. The result is an unrivaled leather that gets better and better with time. With daily use, your leather gear will buff out marks and scratches into a rich and lustrous patina that is exclusively yours. No two leather items are the same and each tells its own story.
